EZOLID (Linezolid) is a synthetic, antibacterial agent belonging to a new class of antimicrobials called oxazolidinones. It exhibits in vitro activity against aerobic Gram-positive bacteria and anaerobic microorganisms. The medication works through a unique mechanism of action: it selectively inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to a specific site on the bacterial ribosome (23S of the 50S subunit), thereby preventing the formation of the functional 70S initiation complex essential for translation.

COMPOSITION:
Ezolid Tablets 600mg: Each film-coated tablet contains 600mg of Linezolid.
Ezolid Dry Suspension 100mg: Each 5mL (after reconstitution) contains 100mg of Linezolid.
INDICATIONS:
EZOLID is indicated in adults for the treatment of:
Community-acquired pneumonia: When known or suspected to be caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria.
Nosocomial pneumonia: When known or suspected to be caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria.
Complicated skin and soft tissue infections: Specifically when microbiological testing has established the infection is caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria.
Note: Linezolid should only be initiated in a hospital environment after consultation with a relevant specialist, such as a microbiologist or infectious disease specialist.

Ezolid Tablets 600mg: Available in Alu-Alu blister packs of 12 tablets.
Ezolid Dry Suspension 100mg: Provided as 60mL of suspension (after reconstitution) in an amber-colored glass bottle.
